Found in Antioquia and Valle de Cauca departments of Colombia in premontane and montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, blackish ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 short, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, eret, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse leaf with the base cuneate into the petiole that blooms in the late summer and fall on a suberect, slender, 1 to 1 3/5" [2.5 to 4 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul and with a bract near the base and a tubular foral bract.
