Common Name Ric's Masdevallia [Bolivian Codiscoverer of species current]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Bolivia in moist forests at elevations around 2050 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, blackish, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowl elliptical, subacute, narrowly cuneate into the blackish petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a slender, erect, .6" to 1.6" [1.5 to 4cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract above the base.
