Common Name The Climbing Masdevallia

Found in Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations of 3000 to 3200 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with an elongated, climbing rhizome with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, eret, coriaceous, long petiolate, narrowly obovate, subacute leaf that blooms on a slender, erect to suberect, 4 to 4.6" [10 to 14 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul and carrying a bract below the middle and a tubular floral bract.
