Found in Chiapas state of Mexico, Guatemala and Belize in moist evergreen forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, subacute, gradually narrowing below into the indistinct petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall and winter on a slender, erect, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract above the base.
