Common Name Sonnemark's Masdevallia [Swedish Codiscoverer of species current]

Found in Bolivia in wet forests at elevations around 2300 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, erect, 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract below the base and a tubular floral bract holding the flowerbeneath the leaves.
