Common Name Soto's Masdevallia [Mexican Botanist mid 1900's to early 2000's]

Found in southeastern Ecuador at elevations around 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, loose, scarious, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, tridenticulate, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a slender, terete, lateral, 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arisisng from low on the ramicaul, with a tubular-lanceolate floral bract.
