Found in northern Peru at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with blackish, slender, erect ramcauls enveloped by 2 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, dark green, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late summer and early falll on a slender, suberect to horizontal, 1.2 " [ 3 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract at the base and a tubular floral bract.
