Common Name Tatiana's Masdevallia [Peruvian Daughter of the type collector Sr Sanchez current]

Found in Peru in a patch of dense and scrubby cloud forests at elevations around 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, rather thick ramicauls enveloped basally by 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, ovate to elliptic, obtuse, conduplicate and cuneate into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on an erect, terete, peduncle to 4" [10 cm] long, provided with 1 tubular, near the base bract single flowered inflorescence with an adpressed, tubularshorter than the ovary floral bract and carrying a deeply cuplulate flower

"The new species is compared to several more or less morphologically similar species, such as M. burianii, M. cranion and M. popowiana that appear to be close in shape and form.
