Common Name Zapata's Masdevallia [Colombian Discoverer of species Current]

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia in cloud forests at elevations of 1400 to 1600 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, subacute to obtuse, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a congested, slender, erect, [6 to 7 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract above the base and a tubular floral bract
