Found in Venezuela, Colombia and northern Brazil at elevations around 1500 to 2400 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with clustered, ellipsoid to ovate, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several, leafless sheaths and carrying a single, apical, thin but rigid, linear-oblong, acute, attenuate and conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on 1 to 4, basal, erect, 4 to 6.8" [10 to 17 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped below by acute, acuminate bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
