Common Name The Rich Blooming Maxillaria

Found in Ecuador at elevations around 2400 to 2600 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with elliptic pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 1 to 2 pairs of leafless sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong-elliptic, acute, narrowing below into the long petioalte base leaf that blooms on a few on the same pseudobulb, basal, through the sheaths, erect, mostly enveloped by 5, inflated, acute bracts, 4.8" [12 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
