Found in Panama and Ecuador at elevations of 1400 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with oval, somewhat compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, rather leathery, glossy, ligulate leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on numerous, to 5" [12.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by bracts and carrying fragrant, long-lasting, rather waxy flowers.
