Found in Peru at elevations of 1800 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing orchid with ovoid-cylindric, compressed pseudobulbs enveloped by a pair of distichous, oblong-triangular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, elliptic-oblong, acute to shortly acuminate, cuneate below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an abbreviated, to .6" [1.5 cm] long, lateral, basal, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by 4 to 5, ventricose, imbricating bracts and carrying subfleshy, rather small flowers.
