Common Name Hennis' Maxillaria [German Orchid Collector 1800's]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Panama, Colombia and Ecuador in mangrove swamps and primary forests as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte at elevations of 100 to 1000 meters with ovoid, longitudinally ridged, flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, narrowly elliptic, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on many, basal, 2" [5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence all opening at once.
