Found in Choco department of Colombia and Esmeraldas province of Ecuador on the western slope of the Andes at elevations around 750 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a swollen stem enveloped by imbricating,leafless below, leaf bearing pair above sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-oblong, obtuse, narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms on an axillary from the sheaths, 1.2" [3 cm] long, provided with 2 to 3 bracts, single flowered inflorescence.
