Common Name The Mera Maxillaria [A town in Esmeraldas province of Ecuador]

Found in Pastaza province of Ecuador at elevations around 1050 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool, descending epiphyte with a monopodial, branching stem enveloped by sheaths giving rise at intervals to narrowly elliptic pseudobulbs enveloped by leafless sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear, acute, abruptly narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on basal, 1" [2.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence .
