Common Name The Small Eye Lash Maxillaria

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia at elevations around 2000 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a thick, ascending rhizome with .5 to .6" {1.25 to 1.5 cm} between each narrowly ovoid, compressed, erect pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, coriaceous, erect-patent to suberect, ligulate to linear-ligulate, obtuse, shortly excised apically, contracted below into the base leaves that blooms on an erect, thin, flexuous peduncle provided with 6 to 7 clasping, acute bracts, 2.2 to 2.4" {5.5 to 6 cm} long, single flowered inflorescence with somewhat longer than the ovary floral bracts that are the same as the peduncular bracts and carrying rigid flowers.
Similar to M acuminata florally but differs in the lip.
