Common Name The Mombacho Maxillaria [A volcano in Nicaragua]

Flower Size 2.5" [6.25 cm]

Found in Nicaragua and Costa Rica at elevations of 600 to 1300 meters in disturbed cloud forests as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with unusually inflated flower bracts and color variable flowers that can happen throughout the year. This species is similar to M cucullata but is less heat tolerant
