Found in northern Brazil as a medium sized epiphyte with ovoid, slightly laterally compressed, sulcate, rugose pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by several, membraneous, triangular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, linear-ligulate, acute, obliquely bilobed, attenuate into the pseudo-petiolate base leaf that blooms on numerous, axillary, fasciculate, ascending, to 8.4" [21 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by a few imbricate bracts.
