Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in wet montane forests at elevations of 100 to 1100 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an ascending rhizome giving rise to ovate, strongly laterally compressed pseudoubulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, acute, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later summer through fall on an erect, basal, single flowered inflorescence
