Common Name The Ponera-Like Maxillaria

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Costa Rica, French Guiana, Surinam, Venezuela and Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations around 60 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with .6 to 1.2" [1.5 to 3 cm] between each ovoid to ellipsoid, compressed, ancipitous pseuodubulbs carrying 1 to 2, oblong to linear, obliquely bilobed apically, basally slightly atenuate leaves that blooms in the spring on a .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising on maturing to mature stems with 2 acute, imbricate bracts and acute, imbricate, obtuse-acute, and shorter than half the length of the ovary.
