Common Name Reichenheim's Maxillaria [German Orchid Enthusiast 1800's]

Found from Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, the Guyanas and Venezuela at altitudes of 800 to 1500 meters in wet lower to montane forest as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose, unifoliate epiphyte with small ellipsoid, lightly compressed pseudobulbs subtended by a pair of conduplicate leaf sheaths and carrying a single, apical, blue green, white spotted, elliptic or oblong-elliptic, obtuse, attenuate towards the conduplicate base leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on several, erect, 3.2" [8 cm] long, bracteate, single flowered inflorescence with several flowers arising on a mature pseudobulb concealed by imbricating, infundibuliform bracts with the flower held above the leaves.

Pers. Comm. R Ferrydoon - An Interesting side note, the spots on the leaves of M pseudoreichenheimii can be scratched off, unlike the similar M reichenbachiana which cannot.
