Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with ellipsoid, 4 angled, rugose and ridged pseudobulbs enveloped by short, papery bracts and carrying a single, apical, lanceolate, petiolate, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on a very short, single flowered inflorescence with floral bracts that are almost as long as the ovaries.
