Found in southeastern Brazil to Missiones Argentina in very wet, shaded locations as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with dark green with purple veined pseudobulbs distributed all along the rhizome carrying 2, apical, aciculate, sulcate on the upper side acute leaves that blooms in the winter through mid spring on a basal, single flowered inflorescence holding the violet scented flowers at mid leaf
