Found in Venezuela, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam, Ecuador, Peru and northern Brazil in moist lowlands to lower montane forests at elevations of 50 to 800 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm, caespitose, erect to pendant growing epiphyte with relatively small, ovoid, flattened, rugose pseudobulbs enveloped basally by distichous, imbricating, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, fleshy, straight to arching, linear, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms at most any time of the year on an axillary, short to 1.6" [4 cm] long, erect to horizontal, successively single flowered inflorescence
