Found in Costa Rica and Panama in very wet and pluvial oak forests at elevations of 1800 to 2600 meters as a large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with ovoid, single leafed pseudobulbs that terminate in a stem carrying linear to elliptic, succulent, flat to cylindrical leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a single per axil, to 1.6" [4 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying white to rose colored flowers
