Found in southern New Caledonia at elevations of 150 to 1300 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with grass-like leaves that can bloom at most any time of the year but mostly in the summer and fall on an erect, bracteate, rachis to 8" [20 cm] long, 4 to 7 flowered inflorescence
