Found in northwestern and southeastern New Caledonia in rainforests, high elevations scrublands or on mossy rocks at elevations of 800 to 1600 meters as a medium to giant sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or occasional lithophyte with 2 to 4, glossy green, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a terminal, erect, 16 to 60" [40 to 150 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers
