Found in Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, branching, several flowered inflorescence enveloped by tubular, acuminate bracts.
