Found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters among grass and shrubs in open forests in wet areas as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, 8" to 24" [20 to 60 cm] long, 5 to 50 flowered inflorescence with successively opening, fragrant flowers
