Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]
Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 700 to 1850 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with elliptic or oblong-elliptic, compressed pseudobulbs subtended by several basal, scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, lanceolate-elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into a shortly conduplicate base leaves that blooms on a flexuous, erect, basal, 9 1/4" [23 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising on a a mature pseudobulb with a single, tubular, inflated floral bract and a large single flower occuring in the spring through fall in nature
