Common Name Tapoya Mormodes [A town in Amazonas Brazil]

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

This species comes from Amazonas state of Brazil in Amazon rainforest at elevations around 100 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with close set, elliptic-lanceolate to fusiform, slightly compressed laterally pseudobulbs enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying numerous, oblong-lanceolate, acute leaves and has an erect, 4" [10 cm] long, several to 25 flowered inflorescence that arises from the lower third of a mature leafless pseudobulb occuring in the fall in the southern hemisphere.
