Common Name Warscewicz's Mormodes [Polish Orchid Collector 1800's]

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

A small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte from Peru, Bolivia and Acre state of Brazil in wet montane forests at elevations of 400 to 1150 meters with cylindrical to fusiform, slightly compressed pseudobulbs enveloped completely by several, scarious, imbricate, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying elliptic-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acuminate leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a slender, to 20" [50 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence arising on a mature leafless pseudobulb with thick, fleshy, fragrant, color and shape variable flowers.
