Found in Bolivia in humid montane forests at elevations around 1950 to 2700 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, inclined to arched, flexible ramicauls apically forming fasciles of 2 to 5, new ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 8, tubular, minutely hispidulous sheaths and carrying an apical, arching to horizontal, narrowly lanceolate, frequently arched downwards, coriaceous, conduplicate, obtuse, tridenticulate apically, narrowly cuneate below into the subpetiolaet base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and early summer on a fascile of short, successively single, several flowered inflorescence arising through a a papyraceous, hispidulous spathe that disintegrates with age and carrying papyraceous, covered by minute trichomes, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

"Similar to M epibator but the new species can be distinguished by the longer sepals, [Dorsal sepal .24" [6 mm] vs .2" [5 mm], more elongate petals, .22" [5.5 mm] vs .24" [6 mm], with slender tails [vs subclavate], and the lip yellowish, suffused with purple [vs lip dark purple], narrower [.04 to .06" [1 to 1.5 mm] vs .08 to .1" [2 to 2.5 mm], witha pair of narrow pointed lobes [vs uncinate] and the base witha prominent erect callus [vs lacking a tall basal callus]" Kerremans & Viera-Uribe 2020
