Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 800 to 1800 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped by 5 to 8, hispidulous, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a congested, fascile, .1" [1 to 2 mm] long, simultaneously single, many flowered inflorescence arising at the apex of the ramicaul, and has inflated, infundibular, coarsly long-pubescent, longer than the ovary floral bracts.

"The ramicauls are long and stout with scurfy sheaths and large, dense, globose mass of numerous, over-lapping, long-tailed, whitish flowers.
