Common Name Rusch's Myoxanthus

Flower Size

Found from Espirito Santo state of Brazil at elevations around 750 meters as a, warm growing epiphyte.

"Like M. conceicionensis, M. lonchophyllus and M. punctatus, this species is endemic to southeastern Brazil and has a dark red to purple-spotted perianth, lip base with a small auricle on both sides and margins revolute to the apex and the characteristic fimbriate anther cap. However, M. ruschii is easily recognized among these by its elliptic to ovate petals vs. ovate at the base then narrow with revolute margins forming rounded linear petals."
