Common Name The Chinese Myrmechis - In China Quan Chun Lan

Found in Sichuan, western Hubei and northern Fujian provinces of China in damp areas of forests and valleys at elevations of 2000 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to a slender, erct stem carrying several, widely spaced, orbicular to ovate, obtuse to acute apically, obtuse rounded belowinto the petiolate base ealves that blooms in the summer ona terminal, erect, minutely villlous, .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowere inflorescence with oblong-lanceolate, abaxially sparsely villous, margin ciliate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying flowers that do not open well.
