Found in Assam, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Yunnan province of China on moss and large boulders at elevations of 2300 to 3800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to a basally decumbent, erect above, stout stem carrying ovate, acute, undulate margin, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a pubescent, terminal, .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm] long, laxly 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and a pubescent ovary
