Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in cloud forests on banks at elevations above 3200 to 3500 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with, when present, fasiculate, lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, completely enveloped by infundibuliform, commonly imbricating sheaths, conic to cylindric, densely many flowered inflorescence with elliptic, obscurely erose, irregular margins towards the apex floral bracts.
