Common Name Gardner's Neogyna [English Plant collector in Nepal 1800's] - In China Xin Xing Lan
Flower Size 1.6 to 1.8" [4 to 4.5 cm]
Found in the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and southern China on rocks in open jungle at elevations around 1500 to 3600 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cold growing lithophyte or epiphyte with ovoid-cylindric to conical pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few imbricate sheaths and carrying 2, lanceolate, acute, plicate, yellow green above, paler below, petiolate leaves that blooms in the fall on a basal, 8.8 to 16" [22 to 40 cm] long, erect then pendant, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence arising on a almost to mature pseudobulb.
