Found in the Maipiri region of Bolivia at elevations around 500 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with cylindrical, slightly basally thickened, with age becoming strongly longitudinally grooved and ridged pseudobulbs and carrying a single, erect, linear to linear-lanceolate, rather leathery, acute leaf that blooms on a basal, to 8" [20 cm] long, 20 to 25 flowered, racemose inflorescence
