Found in Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 1600 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with minute pseudobulbs enveloped by a basal sheath and carrying a single, linear, falcate, dark green suffused with red-purple streaks above and reddish purple green beneath, bilaterally compressed, acute leaf with one subsimilar, subequal foliar bract that blooms in the winter on a basal, from the sheath, to 1.6" [4 cm] long, racemose, densely few flowered inflorescence that sequentially branches and has small, acuminate floral bracts
