Flower Size .2 to .4" [.5 to 1 cm]

Found in the Chinese and eastern Himalayas in forests at elevations of 2100 to 2900 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a stout, glabrous stem with 1 to 2 basal sheaths and carrying 2, apical, opposite, orbicular-ovate to reniform, subacute leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, puberulous becoming glandular-pubescent above, 1.6 to 4" [4 to 10 cm] long, 8 to 15 distant flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
