Common Name The Dew-Dropped Neomoorea

Flower Size to 2 1/2" [to 6.5 cm]

A medium sized, hot growing, erect epiphyte or semi-terrestrial found at an elevations of 50 to 100 meters or more in the cloud forests of Colombia and Panama, with white, spiny, erect roots creating a dense basal mat carrying stout, ovoid, compressed, sulcate pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, plicate, coriaceous, elliptic-lanceolate, acute or shortly acuminate, strongly veined, plicate, subcoriaceous leaves that needs to be kept wet year round with even fertilizing to bloom in the fall and winter on a basal, erect to arched, to 2' [to 60 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with several [10 to 20] waxy, fragrant flowers.

This species is best grown in a pot or hanging basket with chopped tree fern and bark sifted to remove all dust, hot to cool temperatures and should be kept moist through the growth phase and less after the growths have matured.
