Found in Pakistan and the western Himalayas at elevations of 2400 to 2800 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a stout stem carrying 4 to 6 large, loose sheaths that blooms in the summer on a terminal, glandular pubescent to minutely pubescent, erect, 2.4 to 3.6" [6 to 9 cm] long, densely several to many flowered inflorescence with a lanceolate, acuminate, involute margined, longer than the pedicel floral bract
