Common Name The Large Lipped Neottia - In China Da hua niao chao lan

Found in western Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan province of China in pinus forests and shady grassy slopes at elevations of 3000 to 3800 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing leafless terrestrial that blooms in the summer with a robust, 6.4 to 13.2" [16 to 33 cm] long, with 3 to 5, tubular, membraneous sheaths, glabrous to very sparsely pubescent, subdensely to densely more than 30 flowered inflorescence with oblong-obovate floral bracts
