Found in the western Himalayas and Bhutan at elevations of 1500 to 2000 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a firm, stout, pale yellow to white stem carrying 2 to 4, loose, obtuse, pale sheaths that blooms in the summer and early fall on a terminal, erect, 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, glandular-pubescent, densely several to many flowered inflorescence
