Found in Chongqing province of China at forest margins at elevations of 2000 to 2100 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender stem with 1 to 2 sheaths near the base and carrying 2, opposite, below the middle of the stem, subsessile, broadly ovate to broadly ovate-cordate, obtuse to acute, broadly cuneate to nearly shallowly cordate into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, pubescent, 2.4 to 4" [6 to 10 cm] long, laxly 10 to 19 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
