Found in eastern Siberia, Japan and Korea in subalpine conifer forest as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 2, near the ground but not adpressed, opposite, cordate, acute, sessile leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal, erect, 3 to 8" [7.5 to 20 cm] long, laxly few to several flowered inflorescence
