Found in the Russian far east, Manchuria, Korea and Japan as a small to medium sized, cold growing leafless terrestrial with an erect, pubescent stem carrying several, tubular sheaths that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, pubescent, to 10" [25 cm] long, rachis 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, glabrous to pubescent, densely many flowered inflorescence.
